Even The Homeless Want A Valentine

The backyard is pitch black
but there is a man
standing in the far left corner
strung out on methamphetamine.

Twenty-five feet away
and I can still feel his heartbeating
through the walls
he stands so still
making trees seem more human
their branches breathing.

I cannot hear him
and he does not see me.

I watch him for hours
with every minute
the walls around me disintegrate.

He takes all sense of security
with him in his corner
getting off on breaking in
backyards are his playground
and he plays and plays
with my mind
till I cannot protect myself
from straining my ears,
listening for a single foot step.

Loves, I.

Boogie Man Igloo

Hellllo, sorry for not participating in this blog lately. Most recent news from me is that my sister came to visit. Of course no Lederman excursion is complete without an epic ride to a thrift store! These are some of my finds!

Thrift cream and black striped crochet sweaterdress, red tights, thrift shoes
Thrift bejeweled sweater, jean shorts , Franco Sarto boots
Bejewled headband, thrift fringe poncho, Steve Madden heels

One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is re-create outfits I love and create my own with cheap finds I come upon at thrift stores. Here are some outfits I put together with some pieces I found at salvation army and some from my own closet.

Random thrift store shirt that I cut, Urban Outfitters shorts and you cant see them but these white Jeffrey Campbell booties.

Dress is Anne Taylor, sweater is lucky brand, and boots from a flea market.
Shorts are old abercrombie and fitch jeans i cut and shredded, random shirt from salvation army, sweater from salvation army, headband from Banana Republic and boots from F21.

LAHVE LAHVE LAHVE

These are a few of my favorite outfits, articles of clothing, and hairstyles Im obsessed with at the moment. What do yaaa think?

Achh I wish my hair would grow already!Really into the clog look at the moment, gonna find me a pair soon! Any suggestions?
The movie "The Edge of Love" really inspired me, I love these sweaters and flowy flowery dresses with socks and boots. If you go to good will or any salvation army store its so easy to find big cheap sweaters and dresses you can belt or just throw on in a hurry.

Can you say comfy?

Scarfs like these are so expensive, I've decided to knit one for myself.
If I had short hair I wish it'd be exactly like this.
Love her hair, its purrfect.

Rags to Riches

Back in Santa Cruz for our second year and we are living together in a cold house near the beach. There is too much to catch up on so we are just going to jump in to what we did today.

Winter break has begun so we decided to hit the 1/2 deal day at the Salvation Army.

We got some stuff that we thought would be fun to mess around with. Here are the before and after pictures!

So before, this yellow dress was much longer and had shoulder pads. I decided to cut it shorter and add some accessories like a white belt i found at S.A. a hat from Urban Outfitters, wannabe Ray Bans, simple flats and my favorite M.J. watch!

Rag: Blue Dress Riches: Cut slip, shortened, paired with BCBG studded heels, tights, and a blazer.

The once long dress has been cut into a shirt. I paired it with pants that i cut into shorts, faux fur vest from S.A. my Jeffrey Campbell boots and Mr. Kate necklace. check out her unique, creative, up and coming fabulous blog at www.mrkate.com.

Rag: blue sweater Riches: added Faryl Robin flats, leather leggings and gold chain necklace.

I snipped a few inches off the hem of this black dress with sequined detail on the sleeves and around the neck and threw my hair up with a f21 hairband, 3 thin chains, fake purple diamond ring and a bright red tights!

Rag: super long flower print dress Riches: shortened dress, sunglasses, and safari coat

Honestly I thought this was hideous but when I chopped off about 1 foot of fabric it looked great. I mixed it with a thin purple belt, f21 boots, abercrombie jean jacket and a simple vintage necklace from my mother.

Rag: velvet skirt Riches: forever 21 flats, cream color blouse, forever 21 headband

Anyone can shop at places like Salvation Army and spend under twenty bucks. All it takes to make fabulous rich outfits is a little imagination and just the right accessory!

Haunting of Doors.

The concept of doors is still etched in my brain. Events in life seems to match up too perfectly and the old saying of things happen for a reason almost loses its intentional purpose because everything keeps happening in some concise order that is more frightening that relieving. How quickly we open and close doors confuses me. One opportunity has a time limit, and there is a sense of this game to satisfy one's purpose before the door closes and another opens. And how do these doors know to keep opening its as if opportunity is less hopefully and more of something we should just expect. Then the idea of sadness and depression confuses me, if there is always another door opening then why does the one door that closes leaves us upset, is it because we got to the next level of the game without winning? My thoughts in the past few day are so jumbled in a cracked out manner that I can't help but wonder if curiosity truly killed the cat. If we were less curious of the next door opening maybe opportunities would just stop happening, and then would we not be living?

I guess that leaves me to the concept of locks.

Must ponder..

Isabel's Birthday Weekend!

To begin our journey through Isabels birthday we saw Ratatat at the Catylst, but we have no form of documentation, sadly. We did though, see dinosaurs and melting faces, while surrounded by some reallllllly hot boys.

before all that I, Alisa went to see Zion I on campus, it was fucking tight and free. no complaints there.

Saturday- Isabels real birthday
Dinner at I LOVE SUSHI then party at the basketball house with Kiren 40's and our new friend Carta Blanca. We tried to dance, but it was too fucking hot and sweaty. Lets turn on the effing air conditioning por favor!
Afterwards, the Robb sisters picked us up and we all went to A.M.'s house where we continued to party until the weeeee hours of the night.

Sunday- Day keg day
Rush party for Kappa Sigma included keggers, beerpong, jacuzzi, and slip-n-slides.
Later, met up with the boys and girls and went to see Adventureland.

Monday- schooooooooool
CLASS

Tuesday- drunk bowling-turned to drunk laser tag at the boardwalk
With a crew of about 15 homies we drove to the boardwalk and found out that there was an hour and a half wait to bowl. NOT OKAY. so we ran through the arcade like we were 10 years old again and made it in time for the last game of LASER TAG.
Isabel's score was around 4600 and mine said fucking 0. BULLSHITTTTTTT I HIT SO MANY SHINING VESTS!
THEN went to Lily Pad and partied more.
