Rags to Riches

Back in Santa Cruz for our second year and we are living together in a cold house near the beach. There is too much to catch up on so we are just going to jump in to what we did today.

Winter break has begun so we decided to hit the 1/2 deal day at the Salvation Army.

We got some stuff that we thought would be fun to mess around with. Here are the before and after pictures!

So before, this yellow dress was much longer and had shoulder pads. I decided to cut it shorter and add some accessories like a white belt i found at S.A. a hat from Urban Outfitters, wannabe Ray Bans, simple flats and my favorite M.J. watch!

Rag: Blue Dress Riches: Cut slip, shortened, paired with BCBG studded heels, tights, and a blazer.

The once long dress has been cut into a shirt. I paired it with pants that i cut into shorts, faux fur vest from S.A. my Jeffrey Campbell boots and Mr. Kate necklace. check out her unique, creative, up and coming fabulous blog at www.mrkate.com.

Rag: blue sweater Riches: added Faryl Robin flats, leather leggings and gold chain necklace.

I snipped a few inches off the hem of this black dress with sequined detail on the sleeves and around the neck and threw my hair up with a f21 hairband, 3 thin chains, fake purple diamond ring and a bright red tights!

Rag: super long flower print dress Riches: shortened dress, sunglasses, and safari coat

Honestly I thought this was hideous but when I chopped off about 1 foot of fabric it looked great. I mixed it with a thin purple belt, f21 boots, abercrombie jean jacket and a simple vintage necklace from my mother.

Rag: velvet skirt Riches: forever 21 flats, cream color blouse, forever 21 headband

Anyone can shop at places like Salvation Army and spend under twenty bucks. All it takes to make fabulous rich outfits is a little imagination and just the right accessory!
